Children: Sarah, born 1982; Alexandra, born 1992; grandsons Elijah Alexander, born to Sarah and Alex Smith on More…May 26, 2011, and Judah Miller, born Dec. 24, 2015.

I am an English Instructor in the English and Modern Languages Department at Oral Roberts University. I love my job, teaching Comp, YA Lit, Brit Lit, and instructing/observing the English Education majors. I am also pursuing a PhD in Education at Oklahoma State University in Tulsa. Before this I taught Senior English at Charles Page High School in Sand Springs for seven years. Since graduating from ORU in 1984, I have taught every grade from 6th through College at public and private schools! I completed my Masters degree in English from Northeastern State University of OK, and Alexandra graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) on May 31st, 2014. Sarah was married 11 years ago in Tulsa, where she and her husband live, and is busy keeping up with our grandsons, Elijah and Judah! She also finally completed her Assoc. of Science (Biology) degree at Tulsa Community College, and she and her husband own a Volkswagen repair shop in Tulsa.

School Story:

Favorite memories: My friends and I in Latin class enduring Ms. Fowler ("Beaknose"); sitting in Psych. class and hearing students hit the other side of the wall in the assistant Principal's office (we can't do that now!); driving lessons with creepy "Sunburn" Shellenberger; making Ukranian Easter Eggs in Humanities class; staying after class trying to work out Algebra theorems in order to pass Vicki Helwig Selvoski's class; History club trips to New York City!

Mary, I hope you had a wonderful birthday yesterday! I was thinking about you, but didn't have time to pull this up. You are so special, and I hope everyone around you lets you know that! Hope we can get together again sooner than later.

Happy Birthday, dear one! I am so sorry I didn't make it back for the reunion. Did you attend? I definitely will make the next one, but too much was going on at the end of the summer for me to fit it in. I hope your life is going well, and know that I truly celebrate the gift you were in my life. Have fun!
