Comments:

The day after graduation I went to work for Flight Systems working on the assembly line building circuit boards. Shortly after that the company decided to computerize their parts department. I "volunteered" to learn the new system and this would be my initial foray into the computer world. For the next ten years I worked in various places, including the Navy depot, doing information systems related work. In between, I got married (1985) and divorced 10 years later. During the summer of 1989 I decided I had enough of bouncing around jobs doing things I didnt really enjoy, so I enrolled in college. In May of 1993 I graduated with honors (I know, can you believe it?) from Penn State with a BA in Humanities with a major in English Education. The year after graduation I did some grad work at Millersville but decided I was tired of being a poor college student so I went back to work. Ironically enough, I ended up back in the Information Technology world where I remain (for now). In February 1999 I met the woman who is now my wife on a blind lunch date. Shara was way out of my league but I pursued her for months. I proposed to her on New Year's Eve 1999 and we were married in January 2001. Our son Zach was born the day before our second anniversary and our daughter Cailey was born 16 months later. While most of my fellow classmates have kids in college or are already grandparents, I have one in preschool and one in kindergarten. Over the years in my spare time I've raced bicycles with some success (1 silver and 1 bronze medal in the PA State Championship roadrace). I still try to ride a couple days a week when I can. My bicycle racing days are probably over but my next goal is to complete an Ironman. I still ski when I have some free time and most evenings during the winter you can find me at the YMCA lifting weights with my wife. In the summer we love to have friends over to barbeque and sample good microbrewed beer. With two young children life is hectic at times (as most of you know) but we also spend a lot of time laughing. I have a beautiful wife and two beautiful kids and other than holding the winning Powerball ticket, my life is exactly where I want it to be.

Zach on the day after he was born (also our 2nd anniversary). I had no clue how hard or rewarding being a father would be.

Me on our wedding day. January 7, 2001. To this day Shara remembers that day more because the Eagles lost to the Giants in the playoffs. That's what you get when you marry a Philly native and a huge Eagles fan. Next to my kids being born, this was the happiest day of my life.

Christmas 2007. Shara insists that I tell everyone that she's lost 50 lbs. since then.

Zach and Cailey on Zach's first day of school, August 2008. Mommy held it together really well until the bus pulled away.
